Life keeps shifting and evolving.
As I've worked through 17 years of shooting, editing and producing videos, I've been bombarded with a ton of useless shit and some very useful nuggets of wisdom. The same goes for life!
One of the best one is from my dad. He told me:
Do what you do because you like it, not just because you're good at it.
So I continue to evaluate the quality of my work. Was it useful? Did I enjoy it? Does it pay?
As I looked at my favorite videos that I've created over the years, they have always been with non profits. Hands down, without fail. These are the videos that I wanted to show to my wife and friends. I feel such satisfaction from working these groups of people, so, why not do more of those?
Okay, let's do it.
So that's why I've dedicated my video production business to only working with non profits and mission driven organizations.
These groups thrive through by telling stories of tragedy and triumph. It's what they do every day. I can't get enough of it.
But so many struggle to tell these stories. It's like there's a gap between what they know they do, vs what the world thinks they do. This gap can be shrunk with good video stories. And let's face it, video production is a pain the ass sometimes, and these groups just don't have the time or the know how to do it right.
I'm hoping I can help them out.
This means being more flexible on payment terms, budgets and timelines, something we can all be happy with.
My friends and family, this has been many, many years in the making and I'm hoping it works! Take a few minutes and watch this video. I filmed it and co-produced it with my previous company, about 4 years ago. I still struggle to hold back tears.
