In 2008, I was faced with a dilemma: stay in a job I no longer enjoyed but keep the security of a paycheck, or venture out on my own and risk complete failure. Fueled by a mixture of enthusiasm and ignorance, I started my first production company. It wasn’t easy at all. However, through smart planning, good partnerships, and a lot of “just do it,” the company grew into something to be proud of, and I’m still proud of what I helped build. The rewards definitely outweighed the risk.

 

Eight years later, I had to make another life-changing decision: my son, Henry, was on his way and I left the company I worked so hard to build to be at home with my son. Being a stay at home dad is the best decision I’ve ever made.

But, I missed the video world and the business world. So I started filming again. But this time, I didn’t want to be all things to everyone. I knew, in my heart, that telling a story with heart, not just getting pretty video, is what I really wanted to do.
